Position Description

Zap is a rapidly growing organisation that provides Business Intelligence (BI) and Corporate Performance Planning software for the enterprise. We’re looking for a full-time tester to join our vitally important quality engineering team. Our products make extremely complex tasks simple for business users, but to test them effectively, you’ll need the sort of curiosity that drives you to understand how every piece fits together. With a scientific approach to your work, you’ll seek to understand challenging business problems and how our software can be applied in the real world to help solve them.

Sometimes you will be required to perform tasks outside your job description and this can be a great learning opportunity. With some of the best Business Intelligence and enterprise administration minds in the country, this is a great opportunity.

Less important, but nice to have, is experience with:

  • Creating/modifying test scenarios, test cases, test data, test configuration.
  • Review/inspect tests written by others.
  • Perform system testing according to the applicable System Test Plan and Project Schedule.
  • Coordinate test execution.
  • Assist the Test Team Leader with generating high- and low-level test estimates, the test schedule, and/or other planning documents as required.
  • Run investigations or small projects and achieve outcomes.
  • Work co-operatively and collaboratively with the team using highly developed communication skills.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2003+
  • SQL Server/Analysis Services 2005, 2008
  • IIS 6-7.5
  • Active Directory
  • Some C# programming experience or similar would be a definite advantage
  • Experience with unit testing and code coverage
  • Some familiarity with software development build processes would also be a plus.
